Summary: This course is intended to provide students with an introduction to geophysical methods for subsurface imaging and detection as used in hydrocarbon and mineral exploration, mine design, geotechnical surveys and environmental surveys. Exclusions: PHY493H, PHY494H, PHY496H. Prerequisites: GLG345H or permission of the instructor. Text: An Introduction to Geophysical Exploration (2rd edition, Blackwell Science) by Kearey and Brooks. Evaluation: One mid-term test, biweekly lab reports and laboratory oral exam, final written exam.
