Manufacturer: Canberra
Model: 2007

Description

Provides the high voltage divider network for correctly biasing essentially all 10 stage photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) used for nuclear spectroscopy.

Specifications

INPUTS
HIGH-VOLTAGE PMTBias voltage. Range 0 to 2000 V dc. Anode and dynode series resistors, 10 Mohms. Bias network total resistance: 6.66 Mohms to 7.16 Mohms.
OUTPUTS
ANODE OUTPUTProvide negative polarity output from anode pin of PMT. Series high voltage blocking capacitor 0.01 uF.
DYNODE OUTPUTProvides positive polarity output from last dynode of PMT. Series high-voltage blocking capacitor: 0.01 uF.
FOCUSRange 72 to 145 V per 1000 V dc of high voltage input.
GAINAnode bias range 92% to 100% of applied high voltage.

Operating Instructions

  1. Use Gain control to match the gain of two or more PMTs in a multiple detector system. If a single PMT is being used, the control should ne in the extreme clockwise position.
  2. Use Focus control to obtain the best possible resolution with a given PMT. Resolution is defined as the ability of the detector to differentiate between two peaks that are close together in energy.
