Operating Instructions

  1. Connect the voltage to be measured to the sockets on the top of the instrument. If desired, a ground connected to the case of the instrument is on the back.
  2. The pen may be raised and lowered with the slide labelled PEN just to the right of the paper.
  3. Choose the appropriate voltage scale with the rotary switch to the right of the case. If in doubt, choose the largest possible value first.
  4. Adjust the zero voltage point with the small knob just below the voltage scale switch.
  5. The voltage scale is calibrated when the line on the small switch above the voltage scale one points to CAL. If it points to VAR then the voltage scale is continuously adjustable with the small knob in the upper right.
  6. Select the desired chart speed with the rotary knob on the left.
  7. The initial position of the chart may be adjusted with the switch labelled POS.
