Operating Instructions

Here we describe using the apparatus as a gate for measuring the speed of carts on the air track. For further information on the capabilities of the machine, refer to the manufacturer's manual available from the wicket.

  1. Move the left-hand switch to GATE.
  2. Move MEMORY switch to ON.
  3. Press RESET
  4. When two successive times have been measured with the gate, the display reads the first time measured: be sure to write this number down before proceeding. Moving the MEMORY switch to READ will then display the total of the two times. Thus, the second time is the difference between the total time and the first.
