Manufacturer: Pasco Scientific
Model: 9307
Cost: $395 (1973)

Description

A signal generator that gives a 440 Hz fundamental and the first 8 harmonics of the fundamental. Each harmonic has variable phase and amplitude, and has a frequency accurate to better than 0.1%.

Operating Instructions

  1. Select the frequencies desired with the IN/OUT switches
  2. Select the wave shapes of the fundamental with the appropriate switches
  3. The usual output is labelled "10K OUTPUT". Be sure to keep the ground terminals (Black, labelled with successively shorter horizontal lines) the same in all components.
  4. Adjust the amplitude and phase for each frequency with the appropriate switches and knobs in each column.
  5. The TRIGGER OUTPUT is intended for an oscilliscope trigger, if desired.
  6. Turn the unit ON

Note: The functions of this component are explored in detail in the experiment "Addition of Waves II: Fourier Analysis".

Precaution!

Push the RESET button each time before taking measurements.
