Description

An electronic device for counting short duration electrical impulses. The time interval of the counting is also measured precisely. A stable, adjustable high voltage power supply is also included to supply the needs of Geiger-Muller tubes or scintillation detectors which may be connected to the scaler.

Operating Instructions

  1. Connect the sensing device to the appropriate terminal on the rear panel (Detector Input for G-MT and Scint. Detector), and set the sensitivity switch which is located beside it (usually 250 mV for G-MT and 25 mV for a Scint. Det.).
  2. Make sure the power and HV switches are off, and connect the unit to the 115 V 60 Hz mains.
  3. Turn on the power.
  4. Set the HV to the desired level and turn it on when required.
  5. Reset both the scaler and the timer by rotating the reset in the direction of the arrow. Reset the scaler alone by rotating the reset in the opposite direction.
  6. Use the count switch to initiate and terminate counting. Both scaler and timer hold their counts when the switch is turned off.
