HOW TO RUN DATASTUDIO FROM HOME

1) Click in this link to download the program file: http://www.pasco.com/ . Use the pull-down menu Downloads to choose DataStudio.

2) You will be prompted for a licence key and serial number, which you don't have (without it, you can run only a lite version without all of the analysis features). Go to Help to turn on all the features for 90 days.

3) Download an FTP client such as WS_FTP or any other shareware FTP client from the net. They can be found, e.g.  at http://www.tucows.com.

4) Open your FTP client and create a connection to faraday.physics.utoronto.ca (NOT ftp.faraday.physics.utoronto.ca or ftp://... )

5) Enter your Faraday username and password, (the one that was written on the handout).

6) Download your files from whatever directory you have stored them in.

7) Open them in DataStudio. You will get a message saying that the program could not find the Science Workshop interface. Click on pick and choose the SW750 interface. The dots on the graph may look different, probably because of a different interface than the one in the lab., but the rest is pretty much the same thing.
